We apply the Experience Centered Design (ECD) process to deliver successful product and service designs. This process is based on proven User Centered Design (UCD) principles. The process is both introduces the human as a stakeholder early in the development of next gen products, and it ensures that the audience is heard from and learned from throughout the whole product creation process. The process manages that involvement with appropriate techniques and tools. In the design stages, the process ensures through an iterative design process that critical user and customer experience flaws are identified and resolved before the product or service is implemented.

The project team is assembled, including expertise from usability, marketing, engineering, creative design, quality assurance and human performance support. The right mix is critical to being able to deliver the intended results.
Discovery is undertaken to understand the stakeholders, both business stakeholders and customers. What makes them tick, what values do they see in the product; in short, what's in it for them? Ardelius uncovers what each group values in your product, capture business realities and will define the measures for success. This stage will ultimately validate the business case.
This stage focuses on finding out more about the intended audience to further focus the design of the experience. Ardelius captures and describes your users, customers and clients so you know what motivates them, what they would or should do and what their life outside the product looks like.
Understanding the implications of the users, customer, the technology and business realities to sharpen the view of which product requirements are mandatory, optional or irrelevant. Ardelius will guide the requirements definition with an eye on the levers for business success – just because you can build it, doesn't mean it should .
The research and analysis phases culminate in a first design concept. All the insights and inputs are used to create an experience that fits with all stages of the Experience Lifecycle. Iterative design, validation and testing of the concepts are critical at this stage to de-risk the user and customer experience.
Once the concept has been tested the process focuses on specifying the desired experience. This specification enables product development, local or global, to build the intended experience. A typical specification may include mock-ups, product behavior specifications, service flows, supporting communication collateral, packaging, user documentation, and training materials.
After the design has been tested with users and revised as required development will begin. Ardelius will work with your development team or our development partners to bring the design to life and evaluate it against project success metrics right through to product launch.
Throughout this process it is essential that validation or testing is used to determine whether the organisation is still on course to deliver a successful product or service experience. Testing for usability, performance, brand, and installation, are a few of the areas where user, customer and client input is critical.

Once the product or service is created, it enters the experience lifecycle , where it will be discovered, researched, purchased, installed, used, fixed, upgraded and ultimately discarded preferably in a sustainable way. More >>
